Day 2 - Mush v slice

Today didn't go as well as I'd hoped.

Timing was an issue.  He was too hungry to spend much time with his sweet potato mash at lunch time and wanted his bottle, which led to tears, and the introduction of banana sticks as an afternoon snack proved laborious and time consuming for the boy, who became very cross at the fact that a well grasped stick being squeezed on it's approach to an open mouth results in the end falling off and there being nothing to gum on, which led to tears. He did seem to like the banana though.

I think it's back to mush for us tomorrow, as finger sucking seems to work for him.  Hopefully I will be better at choosing an appropriate time for a successful munch.

Fingers crossed.

On a plus note, I'm already getting better at catching flying chunks and minimising random hand smearage.  The pack of baby wipes and a kitchen roll kicking about under the ;living room coffee table are here to stay!

P.S. - Poo watch has kicked in, not looking forward to J's little poopette's becoming full on beastly stinkers! Apparently bananas cause stringy black strands in poo.  I'l look forward to that, then :/
